We have introduced peas to Julia. The bright green all over her face is too cute to not take a photo of. While she has had peas for 3 meals now, she still hasn’t grasped the concept.

Each meal has brought a new hindrance to success. Today’s was that everything in the room is more interesting than watching the spoon come to your mouth. She would look down with her mouth open and all of the food would just fall out of her mouth. It was funny the first five times it happened.

I can go back to just plain cereal, but I was ready for something new. Emily enjoyed making Julia’s food with me. She keeps talking about it and announcing that Julia is eating peas. Peas are not Emily’s favorite food, but she ate a lot of them while we were making the baby food.

Robby and I got away for a weekend, with Julia, for our Anniversary. One of our activities was to explore the gardens and house at Cheekwood in Nashville. This is just a photo of our favorite flower in bloom at the Cheekwood! The gardens were enjoyable and it made for a nice activity.

Julia enjoyed her status as an only child for the weekend. She so deserves this as often as we can grant it to her. She was great for us and we appreciated the special time we could have with her. For the first little bit I think she looked for Emily in the car, she has never known life with out her big sister. Emily was in good hands and didn’t miss us too much. I have heard that Grandparents are glad to see their grandkids, but glad that the kids go home with someone else. I discovered that as a parent it is great to take a break away from your kids, but glad that the kids come home with you.

When Julia is sitting on Daddy’s lap Emily wants to join in. They love to share his lap. Good thing Daddy’s lap is big!

Julia is actively trying to grab anything in her reach. She found her Grandma’s bracelet and stole it to chew on. I don’t think Grandma minded.
