We just had our first real snow of the year at our house. As with local snow tradition, the snow will have completely melted by the time Robby comes home from work. I waited until the sun came out from behind the snow clouds and went out with Emily to see the snow. She looked around a lot. I sat her in the snow so that she could touch it. Every time she tried to pickup the snow she grabbed the grass and dirt. After a few minutes I picked her up and we tried to catch the snowflakes. They were hard to catch because they were small and the wind was blowing them in different directions. We had a good time!

While Rachelle was trying to settle Emily down so I could take their photo, I couldn’t resist taking this shot.

It has been snowing up in the mountains lately, so Rachelle and I thought we’d take Emily for a drive and see if we couldn’t find any snow. We did find a blanket of beautiful white snow once we reached Newfound Gap, although there was a dusting of snow in various places throughout the park.
Once we reached Newfound Gap, we took Emily out of the car for a quick photo-op. Neither Emily nor her mommy was thrilled with the cold temperature.
